Literacy Intervention

$150 for a forty five minute lesson

More than just tutoring, Art of Reading provides intensive literacy intervention programs for children who are having difficulties learning to read.  The intervention provided is specialised and evidence-based, using programs that teach explicit phonics and phonological awareness. We also help children develop their fluency and comprehension, and vocabulary knowledge, and provide ways to develop word recognition despite poor orthographic awareness.

Dyslexia Assessment

A full dyslexia assessment covers the range of skills and abilities your child needs to read.  It includes an initial consultation, a cognitive assessment, an educational assessment, a literacy assessment, verbal feedback meeting and a comprehensive written report.  If your child has already had any aspect of the full assessment already completed, a discounted fee will apply and the particular assessment will not be included in the assessment battery.

Cognitive Assessment

A cognitive assessment conducted at Art of Reading uses the age-appropriate Wechsler scale (WISC-V or WPPSI-IV) and includes an initial consultation, an assessment session, verbal feedback meeting and a comprehensive written report.

Educational Assessment

An educational assessment involves the use of the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test - Third Edition (WIAT-III).  It covers a range of reading skills, as well as spelling and writing, and mathematics skills.  A full assessment includes an initial consultation, one to two assessment sessions, verbal feedback meeting and comprehensive written report.
